Now in its seventh edition, the award is open to companies, start-ups, non-profit organizations, third-sector entities and public institutions committed to developing solutions that combine innovation, sustainability and inclusivity in mountain environments—an area where environmental, social and economic challenges are increasingly urgent.
Award Categories
The competition is divided into three categories:
Mountain equipment and apparel – technical garments and accessories designed for high-altitude and specific climate conditions;
Mountain projects and services – innovative solutions and services aimed at enhancing and promoting mountain areas;
Mountain food and agricultural production – products and processes from municipalities located above 600 metres above sea level.
For the 2026 edition, special attention will be given to projects that stand out for their contribution to sustainability and inclusivity, with the possibility of awarding special mentions.
Deadlines and Exhibition
Applications must be submitted by midnight on April 30, 2026.
The 2026 regulations and application form are available at: www.lagazuoiwima.org.
Selected projects will be featured in a dedicated exhibition opening on June 6, 2026, at Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, and open to the public until March 2027. The exhibition represents a unique opportunity to showcase and promote mountain culture in the extraordinary setting of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites.
Over the past six editions, WIMA has collected more than 200 projects, establishing itself as a reference point for organizations investing in the future of mountain regions and fostering a constructive dialogue between innovation, environment and local communities.
With its seventh edition, WIMA once again invites participants to imagine and build a mountain future that is increasingly sustainable, inclusive and forward-looking.
