Skiing in Cortina during the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games: here’s how

Even during the Olympic (6–22 February) and Paralympic (6–15 March) periods, Cortina d’Ampezzo will offer plenty of opportunities for skiing, ensuring a high-quality experience for residents, visitors, and operators alike. This is a unique chance to fully experience the atmosphere of the Games, returning to the Queen of the Dolomites exactly 70 years after the 1956 edition.

The Consorzio Esercenti Impianti a Fune of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Auronzo/Misurina, and San Vito di Cadore confirms that the ski area will remain open for most of the 2025/26 winter season, including during the competition period.

From the start of the season to 12 January 2026 – everything open

Until the end of the Christmas holidays, all lifts and slopes will be fully operational, with no restrictions.

From 12 January – Olympic preparations

Only the Olympia delle Tofane and Labirinti slopes will be gradually closed for race preparations; all other slopes will remain open.

From late January to mid-March – during the Games

With the activation of “Olympic security perimeters,” the following lifts and slopes in the Tofana area will not be open to the public:

  • Socrepes Gondola

  • Baby Socrepes

  • Tofana Express Chairlift

  • Piè Tofana / Duca d’Aosta Chairlift

  • Duca d’Aosta / Pomedes Chairlift

  • Col Drusciè Gondola

  • Ra Valles lifts and slopes

These will remain open and accessible during this period:

  • Olympia Chairlift (Pocol)

  • Skyline Gondola

  • 5 Torri ski area

  • Col Gallina ski area

  • Lagazuoi ski area

  • Faloria / Cristallo ski area

  • San Vito di Cadore ski area

  • Auronzo / Misurina ski area

Mobility and access

During the Games, a vehicle pass system (currently being defined) will be introduced, and ski bus and local public transport services will be strengthened to facilitate travel.

From 15 March 2026 – full reopening

After the Paralympic Games and once dismantling works are completed, all lifts and slopes in the Tofana area – including the Olympia – along with the Roncato and San Zan areas, will reopen in full.
