Summer 2022: experiences on the Dolomites in Cortina d'Ampezzo

 

 

On June 23, at 5 pm, an extraordinary 20 km trail running race starts from Cortina, with an altitude difference of 1000m. The Cortina Skyrace Trail Running ring route starts in the center of the Queen of the Dolomites and continues uphill to the Forcella Zumeles, and then ends in the historic center of Cortina. Its 20 km and 1,000 m of elevation gain can be completed in a maximum of 4 hours.

 

 

On 24 June, at 9 am, the Cortina Trail 2021 starts, it's an extraordinary 48km trail running race, with a positive difference in altitude of 2,600m. The 48 km ring route begins and ends in Corso Italia in Cortina. The route includes enchanting areas, such as the Tofane, the Cinque Torri and the Croda da Lago and has a positive difference in height of 2,600 m. The 1,700 runners from all over the world will have 12 hours to complete the race.

 

 

The Lavaredo Ultra Trail, one of Europe's most important and the most anticipated trail race, will pass through the area 5 Torri and Croda da Lago on Friday 24th June.

On this occasion, the team of Rifugio Croda da Lago organizes side events with live music on the banks of Lake Federa.

Supporters, friends and fans of the participants will have the opportunity to experience mountain pleasures and to attend the race from a privileged vantage point.

Starting from 6.30 am, on June 25, the UltraDolomites 2021 takes place: an incredible trail running race of 80 km. Characteristic of the race is the different start every year, while the arrival point is always Piazza Dibona in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The first edition had Auronzo di Cadore as its starting point, while this year, for its second edition, the 80 km race will start from Sesto. The first of the 1000 athletes will reach the finish line around 3:30 pm, after having covered 4,100 m of positive altitude difference and crossed some of the most enchanting landscapes of the Dolomites.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From 30 August to 3 September, the Haute Route Dolomites will be back. It's a five-stage road bike event that offers the opportunity to ride on unique and legendary roads together with other cycling enthusiasts from over 40 countries. Cortina d'Ampezzo is the host city of this event and the starting point of the first and second stages. The Haute Route Dolomites covers a total distance of 400 km, touching legendary peaks and unforgettable climbs over 2000 meters and crosses iconic places such as Passo Giau, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Pordoi and Sella passes.
